In Lisboa it’s hard to find a cafe that opens before 8 am, but it doesn’t matter at all, we weren’t in a hurry. In our hood we found Thank You Mama Cafe they have awesome batch brew and tasty hummus with za’atar. And friendly and kind people who work there. One of them is Preshy. One morning we went to buy coffee and there she was. So beautiful a complete sweetheart, smiling. On the way back as we walked home I was sure I had to come back and take a picture of her. That’s exactly what I did, I came back in the afternoon, bought a coffee and asked her if I could take a picture of her. Obrigada sweetheart, I love these photos.
I met João just after the opening Anomaly where he works.
Our eyes met and we smiled at each other. I came up to him and asked if I could take a picture of him. He happily agreed and started posing for me. We exchanged our instagrams and he really loved my grandma’s photo (me too). He told me that he also has a close relationship with his grandmother and I was very pleased. My grandmother means a lot to me.
João, u are a beautiful person (from inside out) with such a great sense of humor, so kind and I’m really grateful that we met.
I met Natalia while exploring LX Factory (one of my new favorite places in Lisboa).
I was very impressed with her appearance. She is remarkable, so beautiful, kind and she has something that I don’t see in so many people. She radiates enormous freedom and joy of life. Dear Natalia, I’m so glad that I met you and I would love to see you again and get to know you better. Sending warm hugs to you.
This is one of the first photos I took when we arrived in Lisboa. It was taken while we were walking to our favorite park, which is in the neighborhood where we used to live. On one of the streets, they were renovating an apartment. Among the workers, this one, whom you see in the photo, caught my attention the most. He was standing in front of the building, waiting. He had a very calm and humble expression on his face. I hadn’t seen something like that in someone for a long time. We kept walking, but I kept telling myself I had to go back and take a photo of him. So I returned, but he was no longer on the street. I peeked into the building, and there he was, working. I came to him and told him that he is beautiful and asked if I could take a picture of him. He smiled shyly and agreed. I’m really happy I did it.
My latest photos, taken in Lisboa, with the wonderful Lita who has such a beautiful and strong feminine energy. I feel that was the main reason I wanted to photograph her.
She is wise, mature, and calm. I love her openness to people and the world. I am very grateful that we met. Thank you for your presence, your time, and the conversations we had during the photo session.
